Static sites, checked.
Heine is a fast static-site generator that builds a complete model of your site before it creates the files for your website.
That model helps Heine catch configuration and authoring mistakes during the build and point you to their source. It resolves pages, routes, copied assets, and generated resources together, so a missing internal link or conflicting output path stops the build instead of reaching your published site.
Your site as a whole
To build that model, Heine reads your page definitions, Markdown content, copied files, and site settings. It determines which pages and files each part refers to, and which output files it needs to create.
For a multilingual site, that structure connects its content, routes, and interface text. Collections and taxonomies reuse the pages you have already defined, so you do not have to repeat page lists in templates.
Errors point to the source
Here, no page named home exists. Heine stops the build at the reference:
× render error in template "base.tera": rendered page "home" was not found
for locale "en"
╭─[templates/base.tera:6]
6 │ {% set home = page(id='home') %}
· ────┬────
· ╰── error hereWhat stays outside Heine
Heine checks internal links between pages and assets, routes for each language, generated listings, and the Markdown and other files that pages name. Use other tools for CSS and JavaScript processing, media transformation, deployment, audits, and external services.
Current status
Heine is pre-release software. This site documents the behavior available now and provides a tutorial, focused guides, the complete reference, and a working starter site.
